As is typical around here, the celebrations lasted for days. She had a class birthday party on her birthday, and some of her relatives came over to our house to celebrate on Saturday and Sunday. Others couldn't make it because of the snow, so I think there's something in the works for next weekend!
She started her day in her favorite way, with doughnuts in bed. Then, she was surprised to see the bear that she wanted more than anything in the whole, wide world!
She went off to school, had birthday treats in her classroom, had a friend over after school, and then headed out to her party, which just happened to be held at her favorite jumping place in the whole wide world!
She wanted this party more than anything, and although it wouldn't have been my choice, the pictures show that it was just perfect for her. They jumped to their heart's content, and had the entire place to themselves.

And got to sit in the Birthday Throne, which is all she's talked about for months now!
But this is when I knew that we'd made the right choice for her party. Most people don't ever see this side of GracieGirl, who's often quiet and subdued. To see her let loose and laugh this hard made me the happiest mom ever!
She designed the cake herself, and knew exactly what she wanted: a soccer ball, a football, a tennis ball, a baseball...and red roses! I love her uniqueness and individuality!
